Dr Lim was born in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and completed his undergraduate studies in America. He attended Emory University, where he studied Neuroscience and Behavioural Biology, as well as Economics. Following his graduation from university, Dr Lim conducted and published medical research at the Harvard Brain Tissue Resource Center.
After his research experience, Dr Lim pursued physician training in Australia. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 2010 and completed his internship in Toowoomba and Brisbane. He transitioned to occupational medicine in 2014.
Since then, Dr Lim has been heavily involved in occupational medicine, working with companies across various industries. He conducts health surveillance for these companies, evaluating worker health and safety. Additionally, Dr Lim manages their injuries, facilitating their recovery and return to work.
As a Medical Review Officer, Dr Lim examines drug test results and provides rehabilitation services for companies and their employees. He is also an aviation enthusiast and serves as a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME) and consultant for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA), where he conducts pilot medical certifications.
Dr Lim specializes in Fitness for Duty (FFD) evaluations, assessing workers’ capability to resume their occupational duties following an injury or illness. His professional interests include safety management systems, automation, and human-machine interfacing.
Dr Lim resides in Sydney with his wife and two daughters.
